Rock was performing with Dave Chappelle at Liverpool’s M&S Arena for the first night of their multi-date tour. Chappelle asked Rock about the infamous slap, probing, “Did that hurt?”

In response, Rock—who had been tight-lipped about the issue until now—lashed out. “Oh my god right…mom hit me for a joke, the nicest joke I ever told. Chappelle and Rock were performing at Liverpool’s M&S Arena for the first night of their multi-date tour. Last night they performed on stage The slap that was heard around the world: Smith stormed the stage on March 27 to slap his old friend after he told a bad joke about Jada Pinkett Smith Rock and Chappelle backstage at their show in Liverpool on Thursday night Chappelle took baking even further. Will did the impression of a perfect man for 30 years and tore off his mask and showed us that he was just as ugly as the rest of us. “Whatever the consequences… I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on and let his real face breathe. I see myself in both men,” Chappelle said. Smith stormed the stage at the Oscars in March to slap Rock after he made a bad joke about Smith’s wife, Jada. She had shaved her head after suffering from alopecia and Rock joked that she looked like ‘GI Jane’. Enraged, Smith stopped the show, went on stage and slapped his friend on the cheek. The smack was heard around the world and overshadowed the entire event. Smith apologized at the time for a while, and earlier this month posted a cringeworthy, wry, Instagram mea culpa to his old friend. Rock has not accepted the apology, he revealed. Smith wasn’t the only target of Rock’s ire on Thursday night – he also hit out at Meghan Markle and her constant complaints about the royal family and her life. Will Smith was seen earlier this month in Los Angeles with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith “I just don’t get it,” he said. He used her as an example of the current obsession with being a victim which he said was one of the only ways to become famous. In his apology earlier this month, Smith said: “I reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk when he is, he will. “Well, I’ll tell you, Chris, I apologize. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.’
He went on to win Best Actor for his role in King Richard that night, but didn’t specifically apologize to Rock. Insisting his wife had nothing to do with the slap, he continued: ‘I made my own choice from my own experiences from my history with Chris. “Jada had nothing to do with it. I’m sorry, baby. “I want to apologize to my children and my family for the heat I brought on all of us. “For all my candidates, this is a community. “It feels like I won because you voted for me and it breaks my heart that I stole and tarnished your moment.” Smith went on to claim that the “disappointing world” is his “central trauma”. “I can still see Questlove’s eyes. You know what happened at Questlove’s prize. You know, it’s like. I’m sorry it’s really not enough. The actor posted the video on Instagram on Friday in which he said he was “in a daze” during his acceptance speech, which is why he didn’t apologize to Rock. “I reached out to Chris and the message he got back is that he’s not ready to talk when he is, he’ll be in touch Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, had recently revealed that she suffered from alopecia and had shaved her head. The Rock joked during his hosting set that he looked like ‘GI Jane’ “Disappointing people is my central trauma. I hate when I let people down and it hurts. “It hurts me psychologically and emotionally to know that I didn’t live up to people’s image and impression of me, and the work I’m trying to do is that I deeply regret it. “And I try to repent without being ashamed of myself. I’m human and I’ve made mistakes and I try not to think of myself as a piece of s**t. “I would say to those people that I know it was confusing, I know it was overwhelming, but I promise you that I am deeply committed and dedicated to putting light and love and joy into the world. “And, you know, if you keep going, I promise we’ll be friends again,” she told fans she’d let down. The Rock recently addressed the controversy at a Madison Square Garden show, where he drew laughs.
“Anyone who speaks hurtful words has never been hit in the face,” he told the crowd. Rock is scheduled to perform with Chappelle in London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam, before returning to the US later this month for more concerts.
