If you like seeing the inside of phones more than what they look like on the outside, this kind of video is definitely for you. Being a foldable device, the Fold4 is even more interesting than a regular slab-style handset, and Samsung has also claimed to have redesigned the hinge. It is true that? See for yourself in the video. The Galaxy Z Fold4’s flexible internal screen is made up of a few different layers, all of which are exposed during teardown at the expense of the screen not working again – as it might be okay with folding in one direction, but it sure doesn’t like it folded in any other way. There’s also a new metal plate below the display assembly and a new notch for the camera below the display. The outer screen glass is embedded in a metal frame which makes non-destructive removal very difficult, and after unscrewing dozens of screws, you can access all the internal components once the screens are gone. The batteries are held in place with copious amounts of adhesive and there are no pull tabs, making battery removal and replacement more than necessary.
