The teenager and her two younger siblings were taken by ambulance to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) in Crumlin, but all three were later pronounced dead. Officers were called to a property on the Rossfield Estate in Tallaght at around 12.30am on Sunday morning, describing the incident as violent, provocative and traumatic. A teenager was also taken from the scene to hospital with serious injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening. A man in his 20s was then arrested at the scene by the Garda Armed Support Unit. He is being held at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The children’s mother, who was not injured, was also taken to the hospital and is currently hospitalized. Gardai said all those involved are believed to be known to each other and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. Officers in Tallaght have set up an incident room and all circumstances are being investigated under the guidance of a senior investigator. The scene at the Rossfield Estate remains sealed off and a forensic examination will be carried out on Sunday by the Garda Technical Bureau. The Medical Examiner and the State Pathologist’s Office have been notified. There will also be autopsies. The Garda Siochana said it has appointed a family liaison officer and will continue to support those involved in partnership with other government agencies. Uniformed unarmed Garda first responders from the Tallaght area were first to the scene and were later supported by uniformed and armed detectives and specialist members of the armed support unit. Welfare support has also been put in place for all officers who attended the incident.
