Hundreds of tearful mourners pay their respects and remember six young lives cut short in last weekend’s car crash in Barrie, Ont. The six victims, all in their 20s, were found dead at the scene of the crash early Sunday morning, hours after police reported them missing. Police had identified the six missing men as Curtis King, 22. River Wells, 23; Jason Ono-O’Connor, 22; Luke West, 22; Jersey Mitchell? and Haley Marin. Tributes poured in in recent days, praising the victims as future social workers, talented athletes, gifted students and beloved sons and daughters. Mourners left bouquets, candles and messages leading up and around the base of the Spirit Catcher sculpture near the waterfront in downtown Barrie, around the heads of the six victims at the base of the statue. Family members, friends and teammates, some sporting jerseys, cried and tried to comfort each other as they shared stories about their lost loved ones.
