“In the future he can go work in a good restaurant or something better or open our own business,” says Olexana Troian. The couple struggles to make ends meet, learning that Canada is more expensive than they thought. Their goal is to leave the foster home, but with four children, one of whom is 4 months old, Olexana can’t leave yet to work.

“We like the host family, but we have four kids and it’s too noisy,” says Olexana Troian. Although it’s been almost 5 months, the Trojans are hoping it gets easier. “We hope in the future we can feel better here because at this time, everything is new for us, new people, new language, so it’s a little difficult now,” says Olexana Troian. Despite the struggles, the Trojans love Canada. However, they miss their home. “I’m smiling, happy, but inside is a bad feeling,” says Vladymyr Troian.
