A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was shot and killed in west London. Police attended the scene shortly after 2am on Sunday following reports of shots fired in Kensington High Street. Officers searched the area and found a man – believed to be in his 30s – suffering from gunshot wounds. They provided emergency first aid until paramedics and an ambulance arrived. The man was taken to a central London hospital where he sadly died shortly after 5.30am.

His relatives have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. An autopsy will be performed in due course. Homicide detectives from the Met’s Special Crime Squad have launched an investigation. The 29-year-old who was arrested remains in custody.
