“We are taking every possible step to locate these individuals,” said Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Blackmore said the first report of a stabbing came in at 5:40 a.m. local time and within minutes received multiple calls reporting additional stabbings. Authorities say there are 13 crime scenes where victims were found in Saskatchewan. Blackmore said it appears some of the victims were targeted and some were random. “It’s definitely a very important event if not the biggest we’ve seen in years,” Blackmore said. In a message to the two suspects, Blackmore said: “If Damien and Miles hear or receive this information I would ask them to contact the police immediately.” “Our thoughts are with the many victims who died and were injured, their family, friends and community. It is appalling what happened today in our province,” he continued. Sunday’s violent incident prompted increased security at the Saskatchewan Roughriders Canadian football game, the team said in a statement posted on Twitter. “As a result, additional members of law enforcement have been deployed throughout Mosaic Stadium and the surrounding area,” the statement said. “The Club operates a central command center on match day which allows direct connection to local emergency services and the ability to receive up to the minute information when any type of emergency occurs.” This is a developing story.
